ALONG THE WAY

My creative adventures began as a child. I loved to draw, and my mother bought shelf paper that she would unroll so I could draw to my hearts content. After graduating from Yale Divinity School, and starting a family, I spent several years at the Atlanta College of Art. The formal arts education taught me design concepts, broadened my knowledge of materials and techniques, and empowered me to think outside the box.

Pursuing studio time, having a family, teaching art at a Montessori school, and advanced training for pastoral counseling kept me busy. Over time, my private counseling practice and my love of art came together in the form of creative workshops. I mentored other creatives in working communally in silence. There, came the birth of spiritual autobiography with visual expression, at SEEDS OF LIGHT studio, and many other seminaries and churches in Atlanta.

I am now retired from pastoral counseling, and reside in Black Mountain, NC. Through all of the phases of my life, a constant has been art. I have painted and created wherever I have been. Art is a manner of seeking, and in that I find connection, spirit and grace.
